Recovering the BIOS from the USB Flash Drive.
- Remove the power cord from the affected PC.
- Use another competitor to download the latest BIOS.exe.
- To download the latest BIOS.exe, we go to the Dell Support Site.
- Enter your service tag of the affected PC to get drivers.
- Click the Drivers and Downloads
- Click the Download button and follow the onscreen instructions to save the update file to a safe location on the working PC.
- After the download is completed Rename the file from the downloaded BIOS filename.exe to BIOS_IMG.rcv.
- Copy the recovery image file BIOS_IMG.rcv to a USB flash drive. (Flash must be formatted with file system FAT32)
Plug the USB key to the affected PC.
Before you plug the power cord back into the affected PC, press and hold down the CTRL + ESC keys until the BIOS Recovery page appears. (When the computer powers on, the USB flash will blink.) If it's not blinking, try to plug in other USB ports.
- If you are unable to enter it, go to the BIOS Recovery page. Remove the power cord and CMOS battery coin and wait for about 1 minute, then put it back. After that, try the above step again.
- Select the Recover BIOS option on the screen to perform a BIOS recovery.
- The PC will show a process bar of the BIOS Flashing Process.
- Once the BIOS flash process is complete, Your PC that has been affected will be back to normal.
